Kari Scheie hired as Communications & Business Manager

Kari Scheie (pronounced Shay) served as the parish administrator at St. Bede’s in Forest Grove for a number of years. There, she lived in a monastic cell inside the church, which was a Roman Catholic convent prior to St. Bede’s acquisition of the building decades ago. Kari has also worked for an accounting practice, and she continues to serve as a remote assistant to a holistic medical doctor and dance performance artist. She also enjoys house and pet sitting all over the Portland metro area.

Outside of work, Kari enjoys creating art, including taking photographs, drawing pet portraits, and studying Byzantine iconography. She is a postulant in the Third Order, Society of St. Francis, a dispersed Anglican/ Episcopal Franciscan Order, and serves on our Diocesan Council. When not pet sitting, Kari resides in a nondenominational intentional Christian community in Forest Grove.

Kari finds great joy and purpose in creating beautiful and accessible communications, keeping things organized, and connecting with the church and wider community. Her presence will certainly be a blessing to us all.
