Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting

From the Detroit Lake Foundation

As we welcome the arrival of summer and the grand opening of the Detroit Community and Civic Center, this is the perfect time to thank the parishioners of St. Barnabas for your support.

As this community and others in the Santiam Canyon rebuild after the devastating wildfires of 2020, the 24,000 square foot facility that will be the centerpiece of the city of Detroit, will house the city offices and conference spaces. Bays for fire equipment will support the Detroit/Idahna volunteer fire department and the gymnasium and future commercial kitchen will combine to provide much need facilities for this community.

The entry way into the Community Center includes the brick purchased by our parish and will forever be a reminder of our support.
