Food Market

Bag of Groceries

Anyone in need of food may come to St. Barnabas church on Saturday between noon and 1:00 pm.  There are no requirements to receive food.  You do not need to be a member of the church (although we would be happy to welcome you).  You do not need to apply, provide proof of financial need, citizenship or residence.  We are happy to help you, no matter who you are.

The Food Market is a food pantry from which you can choose your own food and hygiene products.  We can provide enough to feed a typical family of four for about

three days.  Although we cannot guarantee the exact food and other products we can provide each week, there will be an assortment of fresh food, cleaning and hygiene products.  We can also provide food for vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and other special diets – please just ask for what you need.

If you need help carrying the food to your car, please let us know.

We look forward to meeting you!

Want To Help?

We have a strong volunteer group committed to ensuring our neighbors have access to good, quality, fresh food throughout this pandemic and the related economic downturn.  There are many ways you can help out!

Donate Funds - Since we buy in bulk we can typically buy more per dollar than private individuals, therefore we ask you to consider giving simple cash.  Donation checks can be mailed to the church, or you can donate online through the link in the navigation menu above (please select "Outreach - Food Market" and add a memo to designate for the Food Market).

Volunteer  - We have a wide range of volunteer positions that include shopping, picking up donations, assisting guests as they 'shop', dividing up bulk foods, reaching out to local businesses for support, helping to advertise our services, etc.  Some jobs require working in a building with limited number of other volunteers, and other jobs can be done remotely.  All volunteers must follow Covid safety protocols when on site.

Donate Food - We accept fresh fruit & vegetables, as well as baked goods, dry goods, cleaning and hygiene products.  We do not accept expired or homemade products.  Please bring food donations to Grafe Hall (the building closest to Vermont Street) between 10:30 and 11:30 any Saturday or contact the Outreach Commission to make other arrangements for drop-off.

Thank You To Our Donors
