Children at St. Barnabas
Children’s Ministry is growing at St. Barnabas! Children enjoy being acolytes, ushers, and joining in with Deacon Laurel for the closing of service each Sunday. Sunday school is held each Sunday during the 10 AM service throughout the school year.
Music
Our Choir is small, but growing and very enthusiast. Choir practice times can be found on the monthly calendar on the front page. Each 2nd Sunday we have a special time, as anyone in the congregation may join in - just come at 9:15 to practice for the 10 AM service.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild is a ministry of service. We prepare the altar, priest's vestments and vessels for worship. The Altar Guild sets the credence table with the elements (bread and wine) to be administered during communion. We order and arrange the flowers for weekly Sunday worship and for Christmas and Easter.
Pastoral Care
One of the many ways we demonstrate our love for each other are teams which make sure members of our community and others are cared for in times of illness, family crisis, births, deaths, etc. you can apply it through this ministry. Most of the tasks have flexible time constraints. The Pastoral Caring Committee writes notes and send photos of Activities at St. Barnabas to parishioners who are not able to attend Church Services. We also make phone calls and visitations. At Easter we fill Easter Baskets and cards and deliver them. At Christmas we fill tins with home made cookies and along with a Poinsettia we deliver them.
Food and Hunger Ministry
On the 2nd Saturday of each month at 5:00 - 6:30 PM, free community dinners are served in Grafe Hall. Co-sponsored by St. Barnabas and St. John the Baptist. All are welcome!
