Mere Christianity Book Group Gets Off to a Roaring Start

The first two meetings of the Mere Christianity Discussion group were wildly successful. More than 20 people have signed up to join a lively look at C. S. Lewis’ foundational understanding of the Christian faith, and they have not been disappointed. Even if you missed the first two meetings, you are not too far behind to join the group. We still have books available for $10 each and copies are widely available in local libraries. The group meets at 6:30 p.m. in the Narthex (Grafe Hall, when available), and you are invited to bring a brown bag supper. Thank you to Jean Masonek for planning and facilitating this wonderful forum!

Book of Common Prayer Forum

The BCP forum’s first two classes were a big hit with all who attended, thank you Jean Masonek and BJ Finch! The last two classes have been interrupted by our busy outreach and social calendar, so they have been rescheduled for May 8 and May 22. Even if you missed the first two classes, please come, there is still much to learn!

Book of Common Prayer Forum

On Sunday, April 17, our adult Christian education class will begin a four-week study of our venerable prayer book. We’ll dig into some of its history, theology and contents, much of which can be traced back to the English Reformation of the 16th century.

This fun and informative discussion will be facilitated by Jean Masonek and BJ Finch. Please plan to come and share your thoughts on a foundational document of our Anglican tradition. Meet in the Narthex after the 10:00 AM service

Christian Education – something for everyone

Sunday School for Kindergarten through 5th grade begins at 10am in Room 1 (the meeting room downstairs). Students return to church by communion. A program for middle and high school students meets in Barnabas House basement from 11:15-11:45 following the service (psst: there will be snacks!). And adult education meets in the narthex after the 10am service and will discuss the lectionary for the day. Grab a cup and some cookies at coffee hour and head back over to the church to participate, listen and learn.
