Question: What are the seasons of the church year?
The Women of St. Barnabas are already planning for next year’s rummage sale – which means that it’s time to start collecting again. If your donation pile is growing, please contact Leslie Coefield, or just bring your smaller goodies to the church and we’ll find a place for them. If you have larger items, we’ll coordinate storage at one of our offsite storage locations. Thank you!
The Women of St. Barnabas met on Sunday, June 26th. Thanks to all of you who attended.
The Pentecost chili cook off was under new leads this year. A big thank you to Kay, Melissa, and Sheila for putting this together. We had many new chili chefs this year which was great. This has become an annual staple in the St. Barnabas parish life.
Elementary Sunday School will meet the first and third Sundays (at the regular time), through August. The theme, this summer, will be Praise & Thanksgiving as reflected in the Psalms. (Add these dates to your calendar: July 17, August 7 & 21)
The first two meetings of the Mere Christianity Discussion group were wildly successful. More than 20 people have signed up to join a lively look at C. S. Lewis’ foundational understanding of the Christian faith, and they have not been disappointed. Even if you missed the first two meetings, you are not too far behind to join the group. We still have books available for $10 each and copies are widely available in local libraries. The group meets at 6:30 p.m. in the Narthex (Grafe Hall, when available), and you are invited to bring a brown bag supper. Thank you to Jean Masonek for planning and facilitating this wonderful forum!
The pink is going away! Our buildings have undergone a dramatic transformation. The repairs and painting are complete (with the exception of some areas on the back (north side) of the church that will be tackled next week) and the new color combo looks fantastic. We have new windows and doors in select areas in Grafe Hall, and the swamp cooler has been removed from the kitchen roof. The job should be entirely finished in the next couple of weeks.

Second Sunday Singers meet on the Second Sunday of each Month! No experience required, just show up at 9:15 a.m. and join the Second Sunday singers. You’ll learn and perform a song that day.
