Notes from the Women of St. Barnabas

The Women of St. Barnabas met on Sunday, August 23rd. It was great to have Fr. Sean back with us as well as Senior Warden Betty Woerner. Their presence makes it easier to share information as we work together to build a bright future for St. Barnabas.

Men’s Breakfast

3rd Sunday between the services, enjoy a tasty breakfast and visit with fellow members.

Safeguarding God’s Children

Safeguarding God’s Children is required for all volunteers working with children in the congregation. If you need to attend the training, a session is offered on Saturday, October 17, 8:00 AM – Noon, at Ascension Episcopal Church in Portland. Our Vestry Liaison for Christian Education, Robbie Jessen is planning to attend, so you won’t be lonely. You can register on the Diocese of Oregon website, under the formation drop down.

Adult Christian Education

Adult Christian education will resume the popular lectionary discussions on Sunday Sep. 20 following the 10:00 AM service. We will meet in the Narthex as soon as people have had a chance to grab some coffee and a plate of cookies (or veggies for you healthy eaters), we will conclude by 11:45 AM.

Things are looking very different around the church grounds!

With some financial backing from the WoSB, the Vestry has contracted with a local arborist/landscaper to complete a thorough makeover of our trees and bushes. Several overgrown items have been (or will be) removed and everything else will get a haircut. Things may look a little rugged in places for a while, but we have also agreed to begin quarterly maintenance so our neglected landscape will be neglected no more, and will look great soon.

Vestry Meeting
