Notes from the Women of St. Barnabas

What can we say about the donations to the Grauer Back to School Project – Wow, wow, wow!!! A big thank you to you all. The outpouring of donations of school supplies for this wonderful mission has been over the top. We have never seen such generosity. As mentioned last month at least 500 very deserving children are helped by this organization so they can begin the school year with new shoes, coats, socks, underwear and a backpack filled with school supplies. It was great to have Nancy Scheele come and speak with us on Father’s Day and renew our vigor in this project.

Multnomah Days Parade

Join us at 9:15 on Saturday, August 15, at Handy Andy’s for the parade – brings your pets, your kids, your grandkids, your grandparents, your neighbors… everyone is welcome to join the fun. Toss candy, smile and wave and present a St. Barnabas welcome to the community. We will also have a booth open from 9:00-3:00. Please see the sign-up sheet is in Grafe Hall. The Good Lord willin’, the new St. Barnabas t-shirts will be available for pick-up on Sunday, August 9.

Vestry News

Barnabas House: The work by the realtor and land use consultant is continuing. They are presenting facts to the city planning office, which will take about a month to say what a potential buyer would have to do about Idaho St., the larger trees, etc. We are crossing our fingers. After we know where we are, the realtor will be able to value the property and put it on the multiple listing service.

Love to sing?

Plan to join the Second Sunday Singers on August 9, everyone is welcome to sing during the Offertory at the 10:00 AM service, just arrive in the church at 9:15 for a short practice. No choir experience is required!
