Oktoberfest “Songs, Sausage, and Suds” Event

Fall is in the air and that brings our third annual Oktoberfest “Songs, Sausage, and Suds” event. This will be held Saturday, October 18th from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. in Grafe Hall. It is decorated in fall colors and lights – it looks beautiful. Keith is our sausage chef and we have had Leslie, Stu, Lisa, and Sally serving the sausage, root beer, beer, and wine. We sing three sets of hymns, each about 20 minutes long, with breaks for refueling on sausage and beverages. It is a delightful evening of festive fun. We do ask for input of hymns to sing — if you have a favorite, please let Lisa Begley know ASAP. A list needs to be compiled so Judge can practice. We will also have a sign up in Grafe Hall soon for you to let us know if you will be attending. This helps so much when purchasing the food needed.

Food Cart Totals

Year to date including SW HOPE: 1810.5 lbs. collected (SW HOPE totaled 1373 lbs). SW Hope is Neighborhood House’s spring food drive. We continue to collect food on the food cart each Sunday. Since the end of SW Hope, the volume of food collected by month is as follows: April 82 lbs., May 42 lbs., June 102.5 lbs., Jul 83 lbs., Aug 47 lbs., and Sept 100 lbs. for a total of 456.5 lbs. The weights do not include foods collected that we dedicated for use in the food bags to go home from the Community Dinners. Please remember to bring something for the cart – each can or box of food helps!
